Your doctor is one of the most important people in your osteoporosis journey but appointments are short, and the questions you have are not. Lenari is designed to bridge that gap. The more you understand before you walk in, the more you get out of the time you have. And the more your doctor tells you, the more Lenari can help you make sense of it afterwards.
Come in informed, not starting from scratch
Before your appointment, use Lenari to understand your results, explore your medication options, and get clear on what the numbers actually mean. When you arrive already knowing what osteoporosis is, what your T-score tells you, and what the medication your doctor mentioned actually does, the conversation shifts. Instead of explanation, you get decisions. Instead of nodding along, you ask better questions.
Feel free to show your doctor Lenari during your appointment. If the medication guide prompted a question, show them that screen. If something in your DEXA results raised a concern, bring it up. Most doctors welcome an engaged patient — and showing them what you already understand signals that you're ready to go deeper.
What your doctor brings that no one else can
There are questions that require your doctor's knowledge of your full medical history - your other conditions, your other medications, your family history, your blood results. These are the conversations Lenari prepares you for, not replaces:
- Given everything about my health, which treatment is right for me and are there any I should avoid?
- Do I have any specific risk factors or contraindications I should know about?
- Do I need blood tests before starting like calcium, vitamin D, kidney function?
- When should my next DEXA scan be?
Lenari’s medication explainer covers the questions specific to each medication. Take those into the appointment too.
What to bring back
After your appointment, what your doctor tells you feeds directly into your journey with Lenari. Photograph your DEXA report if you haven't already. Lenari will explain every number on it. Set up a reminder for your prescribed medication. Note your next scan date so Lenari can check in with you when it's approaching. [NOTE FOR DEVELOPER: add a simple "next scan date" field to the profile screen, surfaced in the Today card as a reminder when the date is within 4 weeks]
If you feel unheard or rushed
If you leave feeling like the conversation was too brief, you have options. Ask to book a longer appointment specifically for bone health. Request a referral to a rheumatologist or endocrinologist who manages osteoporosis regularly. Ask whether there is a nurse practitioner or bone health coordinator you could speak to. In many practices, these roles exist precisely because doctors don't have enough time for the extended conversations bone health requires.
You deserve a conversation that matches the seriousness of your diagnosis. Lenari is here to make sure you're ready to have it, and to walk alongside you through everything that comes after.
